The music coming from the band in the basement blared through out the packed house, concealing the sound of thunder from the approaching storm. With all the distractions, Ally still could not stop thinking about him. Luckily, she had escaped his burning gaze by going to the basement to watch the band. Surely, she thought, he wouldn't be able to find her here. The basement was packed with wall to wall people, losing themselves to the moment, alcohol and the music.
"You always know how to take a man's breath away," said the voice from behind her, whispering into her ear. The shrill ecstasy of his voice sent shivers down the back of her neck and even lower. There was only one man it could be.
Turning slowly, Ally came face to face with Max. They were basically touching, they were so close.
"Hello, Max."
Not cool! Way to leave it with a cliffhanger... I'm dying from suspense right now!
